Sigi and Anna Lisa
Sigurdur Thordarson, a native Icelander, returned to The Peace Arch City recently after visiting us nearly thirty years ago when he was a freshman college student and rookie fisherman. Today, he is a banking executive in Iceland and married to a software accountant, Anna Lisa Sigurjonsdottir. Sigi brought Anna to experience firsthand our familiar yet overwhelming American culture.
Sigi came to visit his original host family and reminisce about the myriad of memorable moments they shared on his first sojourn to the United States. He and Anna Lisa have now decided they will come back to visit more often. We are reminded that we take only our memories with us at the conclusion of this everyday life journey and we must always make the very best of planned meetings or chance encounters.
When we reach out and embrace our neighbors we see pictures that enhance everyday life in our own international community.
